ElevenLabs Payment Methods: How to Pay and Fix a Failed Payment

You chose an ElevenLabs plan, entered your card, and the payment failed, or a renewal did not go through and your account dropped back to the free plan. This guide explains which payment methods ElevenLabs accepts, what each plan costs, why ElevenLabs payments fail, how to change the card on your subscription, and how to pay for ElevenLabs with a US virtual card when your own card keeps getting refused.

Which payment methods ElevenLabs accepts

ElevenLabs takes payments by card and a few wallets. Its help centre lists:

• Cards: listed by ElevenLabs as "Credit Card".
• Apple Pay and Google Pay.
• UPI, for customers in India only.

PayPal and crypto are not on the list. Customers in India can pay in Indian rupees; everyone else is charged in US dollars, with the same plans and prices. ElevenLabs uses Stripe to process payments. If a card does not work, ElevenLabs suggests trying another card or a different payment method.

ElevenLabs plans and what you pay

Each paid plan is a subscription with a monthly allowance of credits, billed monthly or yearly until you cancel. At the time of writing, ElevenLabs lists these self-serve plans for its creative tools:

Three things change what is actually charged. Prices exclude taxes, so tax may be added at checkout depending on where you are. Yearly billing is one larger charge upfront. And the Creator discount applies only to the first month, so the second payment is the full $22. ElevenLabs can change plans and prices, so check its pricing page before you subscribe.

Why ElevenLabs payments fail

ElevenLabs names three reasons in its help centre: the payment was not verified by the cardholder, the bank declined it, or there was not enough money. In practice, those come from a handful of causes:

1. A missed verification step. After you press pay, your bank may ask you to confirm the payment, often with a one-time code. This is 3D Secure. If you close the window or the code expires, the payment fails.
2. The bank's rules. Many banks outside the US block international or online payments by default, or decline foreign merchants even when the money is there.
3. Not enough for the full charge, including tax, a yearly plan's single payment, or the full Creator price in the second month.
4. Wrong details: a typing mistake in the card number, expiry date or security code, or a billing address that does not match the card.

How to fix a failed payment or change your card

1. Check your bank or card app for the declined attempt and the reason it gives.
2. Fix the cause: add money, switch on online and international payments, or correct the billing address.
3. Pay again and finish the verification step if your bank asks for one. Keep your banking app or card dashboard open while you pay.
4. Change the card on your subscription: open the Subscription page, click Billing, then Manage billing information. Under Payment Methods, add the new card and set it as the default.
5. Remove the old card afterwards if you want to. ElevenLabs does not let you remove the default card during an active subscription, so set the new one as default first.

Avoid pressing pay again and again with the same card. Repeated failures rarely help and can make your bank block further attempts for a while.

Cancelling, renewals and unused credits

A paid ElevenLabs plan cannot be paused. If you cancel, your account moves to the free plan at the end of the billing cycle you have paid for. Your saved work is kept, but paid features such as voice cloning stop until you subscribe again. Annual plans renew automatically unless you cancel.

On the self-serve plans, credits reset every month, and unused credits can carry over, up to two months' worth. That makes a missed renewal more costly than it looks: a plan that lapses can take its carried-over credits with it. Keep the card topped up before each renewal date, or cancel on purpose. Paying for ElevenLabs with a virtual card

A virtual card is a Visa or Mastercard with a number, expiry date and security code, but no plastic: what is a virtual card. A US-issued card in dollars removes one common reason payments from many countries fail, the card's country. ElevenLabs, Stripe and the card networks still run their own checks, so no card provider can promise acceptance. These habits help:

• One card for ElevenLabs. To stop paying, cancel the plan and close that card, without touching anything else.
