Who issues the cards
Cards are issued in the United States on Visa and Mastercard credit BINs through a licensed issuing partner, and carry 3D Secure. They work anywhere the networks are accepted — more than 100 million merchant locations — and can be added to Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Why we verify identity
Every cardholder is verified with a government-issued ID before a card is issued. That is a requirement of our issuer, and it is also what keeps the cards working: anonymous card programmes are regularly shut down by the networks, and their customers lose access to their balances along with them. Verification is the reason we can be straightforward about who we are.
What we do not do
We do not lend. Cards are funded entirely from your own balance, and the credit BIN refers to how the card range is registered with the networks, not to a credit facility. We never store your card number or security code — card details are shown to you directly by our issuer's vault and never pass through our servers.
